I saw this in the current issue of the Jim Rohn newsletter. It’s one of my favorite teachings of Jim:
To attract attractive people, you must be attractive. To attract powerful people, you must be powerful. To attract committed people, you must be committed. Instead of going to work on them, you go to work on yourself. If you become, you can attract.
We can have more than we’ve got because we can become more than we are.
The big challenge is to become all that you have the possibility of becoming. You cannot believe what it does to the human spirit to maximize your human potential and stretch yourself to the limit.
Pity the man who inherits a million dollars and who isn’t a millionaire. Here’s what would be pitiful: If your income grew and you didn’t.
The most important question to ask on the job is not “What am I getting?” The most important question to ask on the job is “What am I becoming?”
It is hard to keep that which has not been obtained through personal development.
After you become a millionaire, you can give all of your money away because what’s important is not the million dollars; what’s important is the person you have become in the process of becoming a millionaire.
Income seldom exceeds personal development.
What you become directly influences what you get.
Excellent and direct to the point. I have seen it through lots of sporting personalities in Malaysia where most of them only have suceeded in making millinons and losing all as they have not “grown”
I think it is pertinent in this materialistic arena individuals are taught some of the salient values of “personal devlopment” and there is no better place than the school
This is down -to -earth;I sure,need more on it.
This explains a few things… for instance the number of mega-lottery winners who find themselves ruined a short time after becoming a ‘millionaire’ lottery winner. I never felt that the entire problem was due to poor money management alone. Their downfall after winning the lottery is not so much due to their inability to handle the money as much as their inability to instantly become ‘millionaires’ inside. Their wants and desires are not being balanced by their personal development.
I truly believe what was taught in this lesson from Jim Rohn. I have asked for financial freedom put I realized this past year that I needed to do the growing not my bank account. My husband has always told me when the student is ready the teacher will appear, and that is certainly happening for me now. Our bank account is growing and so am I.

Yes, Jim Rohn has a great way of identifying universal messages and creating stories around them, and your explanations complement nicely.
I just finished reading a little novel on this theme… The Ultimate Gift by Jim Stovall. Story line is that a very wealthy man dies and leaves millions to all of his family, except one young nephew. To this boy he leaves the ‘ultimate gift’… the gift of becoming wealthy from the inside out. Here’s to our inner wealth!

yes I love yr discussion. I know I have to fix my inside before I see my bank balance grow. The past year I have done Level 1 and Level 2 EFT with a qualified teacher and have been doing case studies. Since leaving school my unconscious mind has sabataged me because I took on a negative belief from my father. That money is the root of all evil and money doesn’t make you happy. he drummed this into me all my childhood. I am now 37 and since school I have had 20 different jobs, always have lived in poverty and have had a history of bad luck when it comes to money and had poor relationships and low self esteem. Well I am removing the negative belief from EFT and tapping on positve affirmations. I am now getting positve results. I work as a mortgage broker and now looking for a solid and genuine personal development internet business.
